  • Restorationism, as a political ideology, centers on the belief that a previous social, political, or governmental order was superior to the current state of affairs and should be restored. While Restorationism is often contrasted with revolutionary or progressive ideologies that seek to create new systems, it can sometimes overlap with reformist movements if the restoration involves selective adaptation rather than wholesale return. Throughout history, Restorationist ideas have influenced political parties, social movements, and even cultural trends, reflecting a recurring human impulse to look to the past for solutions to contemporary challenges.
