It depends on what they're doing to combat their reason for the Union.

 @8F5PKLS from North Carolina  answered…6yrs6Y

Regardless of whether or not they help the economy, they help people, and this is what is important.

 @jennamarieanswered…6yrs6Y

Help, I support some private unions but I am against public unions

 @owenfuckem from Pennsylvania  answered…6yrs6Y

Help, but only when they're actually completely worker-controlled, otherwise they provide a cover for corporate interests.

 @LangworthyUS9th from Michigan  answered…6yrs6Y

No public unions people that get paid by taxpayers should be able to get fired for underperfoming. Private unions like UAW IBEW ect are good but should not be compulsory to join.

 @8KY7QTD from New York  answered…6yrs6Y

Both. They can be good and bad for the economy depending on the union.

 @8KX67Q9 from California  answered…6yrs6Y

 @kgtiberius from Wisconsin  answered…6yrs6Y

Hurt. Historically, unions had done some good but have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited. I support some private unions but am strongly against public unions.

Hurt, Get rid of all unions and let everyone be their own advocates and have a level playing field for all people

 @78S5M87 from Wisconsin  answered…6yrs6Y

Get rid of all unions and let everyone be their own advocates and have a level playing field for all people. People speak louder then cooperations.

 @eleemoore from Kentucky  answered…6yrs6Y

It is within the right of all non-government employees to join a union. It doesn’t matter whether or not they help the economy.

 @6HDD83R from California  answered…6yrs6Y

Permanently and irrevocably ban all leftist and anti-Zionist and/or anti-Semitic labor organizations in all its forms

 @8H4DF7B from Arizona  answered…6yrs6Y

Help but let the worker decide if they want to join and have oversight over how they interact with politicians.

 @4ZTD62Kanswered…6yrs6Y

Labor unions are helpful, but I don't think you should have to be part of a union to organize your workplace.

 @8P4J799 from Wisconsin  answered…6yrs6Y

  @buday4vancouver from Washington  answered…6yrs6Y

A local Guild can be useful in privately establishing a min training wage, setting up apprenticeships and safety agreements. However massive national unions just basically do what nasty corporations do and keep merging and care little for the worker.

 @7W3SBDC from Florida  answered…6yrs6Y

This question is broad. Public unions tend to hurt. Private unions tend to help.

 @84JHJXZ from GU  answered…6yrs6Y

Both they protect the workers, but also sometimes hurt the workers.

 @8PLZWQSanswered…6yrs6Y

Hurt, but I support most unions in increasing protections of labors

 @TogetherinSoli1 from GU  answered…6yrs6Y

Hurt in some areas, and help in others, but private unions ultimately help

 @8QPG4TW from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

I need more information to be able to form an opinion on this topic.

 @8QDSNZY from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Help, However some such as the Police Union have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited

  @8QYZ4SB from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Not necessarily the economy overall, but they ensure benefits and fair wages for the working class.

  @8P6PWZP from Louisiana  answered…5yrs5Y

Help, and their powers should be strengthened at a progressive rate.

 Deletedanswered…5yrs5Y

Hurt the economy but in more cases than not they protect the worker.

 @8S4VH5F from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

You have the right to unionize, but unions should really have less power.

 @8VC7WDN from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

They can help, however ban ability to make political donations and limit their powers.

I don't believe it affects the economy, but it does help ensure workers have proper pay, benefits, and rights.

 @842VWLK from Wisconsin  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8XNT9ZQ from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

100 years ago labor unions helped many workers, now the unions are robbing their members of wages, the administrators get rich, and almost nothing is done to benefit the workers but they support corrupt politicians.

 @8XQCD4Q from Washington  answered…5yrs5Y

Regardless, unions protect and increase the liberty of their members, who are the working class backbone of this nation.

 @8Y96CVP from Michigan  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe they do hurt and take a toll in the economy, but their ability to make political donations should be banned.

 @vacheeseheadanswered…4yrs4Y

Depends on the situation, currently labor unions I beleive have gained too much power against employers, but in times of economic slowdowns/depressions, they should come to the defense of their members.

 @8Z4TXWG from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

depends on the people in the union and who is running it, some are good some are not.

 @748XY8Manswered…4yrs4Y

Their purpose is for the advancement of workers' rights, and for that I support them. Whether or not they help or hurt the economy is irrelevant

 @8Z48T24 from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe the government should stay out of unions, private unions are helpful

 @8ZL6BBD from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

Help, but they should only serve their roles and ensure a healthy work environment.

  @8XD6BY6 from Nevada  answered…4yrs4Y

Hurt, but I do think that workers should have the right to unionize

 @939NWVG from Massachusetts  answered…4yrs4Y

Help, but they exist to protect workers. Their impact on the economy is irrelevant.

 @93BDMP6 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

My opinion doesn't matter, because the government should not pass laws favoring one side or the other

 @92JXK3J from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

Theoretically they're supposed to help us. But they are corrupt right now, in my opinion. Other than that, I am not well-versed in this subject to give a real opinion on unions.
