On Friday, Ukraine launched one of its most extensive drone operations to date, striking strategic oil refineries and military airfields deep inside Russian territory.
The coordinated assault reached targets over 500 miles from the border, hitting major fuel hubs in Volgograd and Taganrog to disrupt Russia’s energy-funded war machine. Beyond energy targets, the strikes reportedly destroyed two rare Tu-142 maritime patrol planes and a high-value Iskander missile launcher used for attacks on Ukrainian cities. President Zelenskyy described the operation as "bringing the war back" to Russia, emphasizing a shift toward hitting high-value logistics and export nodes that sustain the invasion.
While Kyiv celebrates the tactical success, Ukrainian officials have issued urgent air raid warnings as they anticipate a massive retaliatory response from Moscow.
