On Saturday, President Trump announced he will headline the "Great American State Fair" after a wave of musical artists cancelled their performances.
Stars like Martina McBride and Bret Michaels withdrew from the D.C. event, claiming they were misled about the festival's partisan ties to the president. Organizers "Freedom 250" initially pitched the 16-day National Mall celebration as a nonpartisan birthday bash for the country’s 250th anniversary. Trump dismissed the departing acts as "third-rate" and suggested he is a bigger draw than Elvis Presley.
The event is still scheduled to begin June 24, with Vanilla Ice remaining as one of the few confirmed performers.
